Weight Loss Wednesday: Feeling Great!

My Progress:

New weight:135 technically I lost .5 lbs
Goal weight:117
Total lost: 8 lbs

So I know its Thursday and not Wednesday. But yesterday I shared that I was a guest blogger over at Becoming a Proverbs 31 Woman. Anyway lets to get to this weeks weight loss point: Feeling Great!

This means two things:

1. When you start working out and eating healthy by adding in lots of fruits and veggies, whole grains, healthy fats, and limiting the junk food/soda you begin to feel different. I can already tell a difference. I have a ton more energy and I am feeling so good! For months I always felt sluggish and would take a nap everyday. Now the only days I take a nap is maybe on the weekend since those are more of my rest days.

2. Feel great about what you have accomplished so far! Everyday is a new day so don’t get bummed out if you have a bad day or week when it comes to eating and exercising. You can always jump right back on the health train. A long long time ago when I would try to lose weight or get in shape I would be really hard on myself if I didn’t lose any weight that week or I ate a bunch of ice cream. Then I would feel guilty and fall off the healthy eating. It was a pretty much yo yo dieting and I would end up gaining more weight then what I started with.

This is probably the first time, however, that I am not getting upset or mad at myself. Its a health journey where I am establishing a healthy diet for life and not just a temporary weight loss plan where I am going to lose the weight and then go back to old habits. It takes time and there is no reason to beat yourself up. Learn to love your body the way it is now and love it more when it changes. Focus on the positive. Remember slow and steady wins the race. Those who lose 1- 2 lbs a week will keep it off longer than those who lose weight quickly.

Good luck and I would love to hear your progress so far! Have a great day!
