Pretty Darn Complete Breakfast Smoothy

Not going to lie this summer has made me very lazy! After a very long and busy year with grad school and being a newlywed this summer has been my time to relax and do the things I love to do! Make up recipes, hang with great friends, and do crafts! Can it get much better then that? Well I came up with this idea of the Compete Breakfast Smoothy when I was running late to work and needed a healthy breakfast to go! Then I remembered I really needed coffee so I thought why not just throw it in? This smoothy is great balanced meal because it includes milk, protein, whole grain, and fruit. You could probably even throw in a handful of spinach to make it even more complete! That would be all the food groups!

Complete Breakfast Smoothy
Serving size 1-2 depending on how much you want to drink! I love big smoothies!!

Ingredients
1 ripe banana
4-5 strawberries or 1/2 cup frozen berries of your choice
1/2 cup cold coffee (can omit and add extra milk if you don’t like coffee although you can barely taste it)
1/2-3/4 cup almond milk or other milk of choice
1/2 cup dry oatmeal
1 heaping Tbs of peanut butter
2 Tbs coco powder
1 Tbs or more sweetener of choice agave, honey (not vegan), maple syrup, etc
1 Tbs chia seeds (optional)
Handful of ice

Directions: Blend ingredients in a blender and enjoy your complete breakfast to go! I may be drinking this on the couch while blogging about it right now :). By the way this smoothy filled up 2 large wine glasses. Everything taste fancier in a wine glass.

What are your favorite types of smoothies?

  1. I love discovering recipes where I have everything on hand – even the chia seeds and the ripe banana on my counter! I’m definitely going to try this (minus the coffee). Thanks for posting this fabulous recipe.

    * Stopping by from Homemaker on a dime.

  2. My kids and I make this – minus the berries and coffee and plus some yogurt. I’m not a coffee drinker, but my husband is–might have to steal some and try it.
