Bake these sourdough chocolate chip cookies right away, or place them in a covered bowl and ferment in the refrigerator for 72 hours for the best flavor and digestibility.

– Brown sugar packed – Sugar – Butter softened – Egg – Vanilla – Sourdough starter – All purpose flour – Salt – Baking powder – Baking soda – Chocolate chips

Step 1

Cream the butter and sugar together. Whip until nice and fluffy, about three to five minutes

Add eggs, vanilla extract, and sourdough starter to the butter sugar mixture and combine on low speed. Slowly add dry ingredients to wet ingredients until just combined.

Add chocolate chips and stir. Bake right away at 350 or long ferment in the refrigerator for up to 72 hours.

Step 4

Scoop dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.  Bake for 14-18 minutes for larger cookies and 12-15 minutes for smaller cookies, or until the edges start to become golden.
