Sourdough Apple Bread

This sourdough apple bread is a delicious spiced bread with caramelized apples cooked down in brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon throughout.

Can be made long-fermented or even as a quick bread recipe.

INGREDIENTS

- Sourdough starter - All purpose flour - Butter - Brown Sugar -Sugar - Apples - Eggs - Baking soda - Baking powder - Vanilla -Cinnamon

In the bowl of a stand mixer or a large bowl, combine melted butter, flour, sugar, and a cup sourdough starter.

Cover and allow to ferment for 12–24 hours. If you want to skip the fermentation process, then proceed to the next step.

Heat a skillet over low heat and add butter and diced apples. Cook the apples down, stirring frequently, until translucent. Add brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir until it starts to caramelize.

To the dough, add, eggs, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, baking soda, and baking powder. Mix together on low to medium speed until everything is combined.

Slowly add in the slightly cooled caramel apple mixture into the batter. Pour into the prepared loaf pan. Bake at 350 F for 55-65 minutes until it starts to brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
