Ingredients
1/2
cup
unsalted butter
1/2
cup
blueberries
washed and dried
2
tablespoons
powdered sugar
Instructions
Allow the butter to soften to room temperature.
Add the fresh blueberries to a blender, food processor, or immersion blender and blend until completely smooth.
Whipped softened butter in the stand mixer for a minutes or two.
Add fresh blueberry puree, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract and whisk together until light and fluffy.
Taste and add additional powdered sugar or pinch of salt if you prefer a sweeter butter.
Transfer the blueberry butter to a serving dish or airtight container. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to enjoy.
Notes
Use ripe blueberries.
Sweet, ripe berries create the best flavor and natural color.
Start with softened butter.
Soft butter whips much more easily and creates a fluffy texture.
Whip for several minutes.
The extra whipping incorporates air, making the butter light and creamy.
