This homemade maple latte is creamy, naturally sweetened with pure maple syrup, and ready in just a few minutes. It is an easy coffee shop style drink that is perfect for cozy mornings at home.
Brew one or two shots of espresso or make a strong cup of coffee. Pour in a mug and add maple syrup. I like to add half my maple syrup to the coffee amd 1/2 the maple syrup to my milk.
In a small saucepan, combine the milk, 1/2 maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of cinnamon if using. Heat over medium heat until warm, being careful not to let it boil.
Froth the warm milk using a handheld milk frother, blender, or whisk.
Slowly pour the frothed milk over the espresso.
Enjoy! If you are feeling extra fancy, add some homemade maple whipped cream.
Notes
Use pure maple syrup instead of pancake syrup for the best flavor.
Freshly brewed espresso creates the richest latte, but strong brewed coffee also works well.
Warm the milk gently so it stays creamy and does not scorch.
If you do not have a milk frother, simply heat the milk in a saucepan and whisk vigorously until foamy, use a immersion blender, or blend it carefully in a blender for a smooth, frothy finish.
Taste before serving and add a little more maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter drink.
