Homemade Natural Soft Scrub

I love homemade products. They are cheap, better for the environment, and work just as well as the commercial products! When I saw this recipe from Live Renewed for homemade soft scrub I had to try it! Guess what? This stuff is amazing I was so surprised at how well it cleans! The hubs even walked by and said “wow thats shiny.

Ingredients:
3/4 cup baking soda
1/4 cup liquid castile soap (any will do I had tea tree on hand)
1 Tablespoon water
10 to 15 drops of tea tree oil (I used less since I used tea tree soap)

Directions: Mix first 3 ingredients together, then mix in tea tree oil. Transfer into a squeezable container and clean away!

  1. It is not a good idea to mix vinegar and castle soap. Whole New Mom experienced this, here is her explanation. The acid and base in the vinegar and the castille soap react, causing the castille soap to unsaponify, which basically means that the soap is broken down to its original oils. I have experienced this as well in my shower and bathroom sink.

  2. Great recipe! I added a 1/4 cup of vinegar as well and it’s brilliant for stainless steel! Never had more shiny stainless steel surfaces. I even impressed my mother, lol.

    1. Wow thats awesome! I had a reader who asked about cleaning stainless steel so this would be great for her! Thanks for sharing!

  3. Haha…I didn’t realize at first that this recipe was for home cleaning. I was wondering what hubby thought was so shiny! Found you over at the barn hop. My post is the applesauce.
