Freezing Herbs

So as you may have saw my previous post about how we inherited a ton of fruits and vegetables and how I preserved them by freezing. Well we inherited a lot of cilantro and basil to that day. Man do I love fresh herbs but they are only good for a little while before they go bad and dried herbs don’t have the same flavor. I saw this on pinterest and had to give it a try. Of course its super easy…. Do you expect any less from me?
Step one: Wash and chop up you fresh herbs finely.
Step two: Place them in an ice cub tray and fill it up with olive oil

Step 3: Place in the freezer for a few hours until frozen
Step 4: Pop them out of the ice cub tray and place in a ziplock bag. If your having trouble put some hot water on a cookie sheet and put ice cub tray on it for 30 seconds or so. Be careful they melt quickly. I did this then used a fork to get them out really easily.
Step 5: Place back in the freezer and whenever you want to use fresh herbs while your cooking just get one from the freezer and melt in the microwave or just put it on a skillet.

Sounds great. But um, you might want to read your recipe. I don’t know about you but I don’t have anything in my kitchen called a cookie “sh#%” and I think it is an ice CUBE tray.
I will definetly be using this for basil!!! Love it.
O my gosh thank you for pointing it out! I re read all my posts a bunch of times and never saw that! Just fixed it! How embarrassing!
Such a fantastic idea!
What a great idea. I think I am going to do this with my basil.
