Homemade Nut Free Nutella

Nutella is kind of a problem… It’s too delicious and too addicting. It’s even a bigger problem for me since I’m allergic to nuts. This is a somewhat new discovery hence why some tasty recipes previously shared on the blog have nuts in them. For example these chocolate coconut cashew bites and this apple crisp). So what’s nut free nutella? Ella of course! Get it eh eh?
This recipe came about because I was craving peanut butter and I am even more allergic to peanuts then tree nuts (bring on the itchy swelling hands… kidding it’s a terrible problem). Well then walks in Sunbutter. You know, butter made from sunflower seeds? No? Well it’s super tasty and addicting on its own. My husband even told me I had a problem. I see nothing wrong with eating it off a spoon , or on raspberries with honey, or on bread multiple times a day.
So how do you make any type of nut or seed butter better? By adding chocolate and honey of course. Nom nom nom.
Right now as I type, I’m eating this delicious spread with pretzels. But you can also enjoy this on waffles, crepes (hello strawberries and whipped cream), toast, english muffins, on your finger. You get it!
