I’m Still Here…

I promise I’m still here. The sleepness nights, screaming two year old, and all the blessing of motherhood has made me hide in a cave for awhile. The exhaustion of pregnancy, plus pregnancy insomnia mixed with my sweet toddler not wanting to sleep through the night has left my body unable to function. Do you know the feeling of not sleeping for about two week? It feels like you’re body is failing you and you just may be dying. Ok that may be a little dramatic, but anyone that hasn’t slept for awhile knows the feeling. You’re brain stops functioning and your arms (and eyelids) feel like they weigh 1000 pounds.

Getting off the couch was a hard task and even the thought about blogging hurt my brain. So please forgive me and my absence here. The other night, I had my first really good sleep in a long time. Not only did I sleep, but August slept the whole night without waking up screaming bloody murder. Praise the Lord! It’s amazing what a good nights sleep can do. The house is clean, I’ve prepped dinner and made a freezer meal for the future, and enjoyed my two year old more (and didn’t watch 1200 episodes of Daniel Tiger). And I am way less cranky. GRRRRrific!

Let’s hope that these good night’s rest hang on for awhile and I can continue to be here blogging and functioning like a normal human being. This week Libby will be up with a delicious recipe for a real food, refined sugar free dutch baby. So good. Made it multiple times this week.

Thank you Celebrate Well for taking our family photos this year! I’m in love with how amazing they turned out.

  1. Great article!
Just wanted to give my top 3 insomnia-busting tips!
1 – Meditate – as much or as little as you have time for. It helps me too calm my mind before sleeping.
2 – Yoga & Cardio Exercise – I can’t sleep without raising my heart rate for at least 30 mins per day.
3 – Avoid Social Media – You know it’s true…haha! Living your life waiting for “likes” is the best way to increase stress and affect your sleep!!!
Hope this helps you or some of your readers.
    Keep up the great work!
