DIY Cleaning Products Gift Basket

This summer there are lots of weddings to attend! I am so excited for all my friends and their new adventures with their future husband. With lots of weddings comes lots of showers and lots of gifts. When you have a tight budget it can get a little hard. Well who doesn’t like homemade awesome gifts? One of my best friends Laura had her shower yesterday and it was absolutely beautiful! With a little thought, I came up with an idea for her present and it only cost me $10. You could even make it for less if you can find a basket at a yard sale. The only things I bought was the spray bottle, basket, the fabric for the dryer sheets (on clearance cost me $0.40), and the dish cloths everything else I made or already had like the sponge (new of course) and the mason jar. All the products that were included in the basket were all homemade. I also included all the recipes to the cleaners and put them in her card.
Here’s what the basket included:
- DIY Dryer Sheet
- Liquid Laundry Detergent or you can find the powdered detergent recipe here.
- All Purpose Spray
- Dish Detergent
- Dish Washer Detergent
- Also the basket included a dusting cloth made out of fabric from an old project.
- Reusable sponge
- Dish Cloths
She loved this gift and said it was one of her favorites. Made me so happy. This is great for a friend that wants to go eco friendly and stop using commercial products but doesn’t know where to start. Or someone who just doesn’t have time to make them! I will definitely be making more of these and been thinking about doing a DIY beauty product basket! That’s a post for the future! Have you ever given a basket like this?

Great idea!!
I love this idea! My brother and sister-in-law are expecting a baby in the fall, and I was planning on giving her cloth wipes and homemade wipe solution for one of her presents. I think that no matter what friends/family register for before special days, a homemade gift always goes over so well. I will be tucking this idea away for the future! Thank you!
Totally agree. Homemade gifts are always better. They feel so much more thoughtful!
I love these kind of baskets. I received a similar one when we got married 10 years ago. And I love giving these to high school grads heading off for college. I LOVE that yours is homemade…what a special touch. Would be super delighted for you to link up with us over at Mop It Up Mondays: http://www.ishouldbemoppingthefloor.com/2012/06/mop-it-up-mondays-21-with-give-away.html

Awesome gift! Most newlyweds are on a budget so I’ll bet she appreciated the gift keeps on giving and she’ll think of you every time she makes a refill product. This post’s a keeper.
